Do you have one or several missing teeth? A treatment with dental implants may be the right solution for you. Sanjiv Joshi is our provider having an MSc in dental implantology from Warwick University.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant can be used to replace a missing tooth. The implant is a titanium rod designed to replace the tooth root and to hold an artificial tooth or teeth in place.
The dental implant is inserted under local anesthetic and, once healed ,it acts as a base for the visible top of the tooth. It is fixed securely in place and feels much like a natural tooth.
The dental implant can be used to replace
-
an individual tooth,
-
more than one tooth, or
-
all teeth.
It does not require healthy neighbouring teeth to be ground down as might be required in bridgework, and it can be cleaned just like your other teeth.
For implant care you will see Sanjiv at the Practice who will meticulously plan and explain your treatment and give you a cost estimate before you commit to going ahead with it. For more complex cases we may choose to refer you to a suitable specialist elsewhere.
